NYS Concealed Carry Course Terms

The New York State Concealed Carry License course is an approved 16 hour classroom/2 hour range qualification course given over the span of 3 days which allows you to obtain a NYS Concealed Carry license. This course is necessary to obtain your NYS Concealed Carry License. You DO NOT need your NYS Pistol License to participate in this course.

•You must be a LEGAL United States Citizen or Permanent Resident in order to attend this course.

•Past convictions may or may not prohibit you from obtaining your pistol permit.

• General Firearm Safety
• Pistol Nomenclature
• Selecting a Handgun For Self-Defense
• Ammunition Knowledge and Selection
• Drawing From Concealment
• Loading/Stoppage Remediation
• Responding To An Attack/and Aftermath
• Carry Modes/Pistol Concealment
• Firearm Cleaning/Maintenance
• Firearm Safe Storage Requirements
• Range Safety Rules
• State/Federal Gun Laws
• Situational Awareness, Including Display & Concealment
• Conflict De-Escalation
• Adverse Effects of Alcohol/Drug Use & Firearm Safety
• Encountering Law Enforcement
• Restricted Firearm Carry Locations as per NYS PL § 265.01-d
• Conflict Management
• Use of Deadly Physical Force
• Suicide Prevention
• Basic Principles of Marksmanship Including Stance, Grip, Sight Alignment & Picture, Trigger Control and Breathing
• Each Student Must Demonstrate Proficiency By Completing a Firearm Live-Fire Assessment

$500 Members / $525 Non- Members (includes $25 discount off future Membership fee)

By signing this application, I acknowledge that I have read and understand the rules, regulations, and policies of the Glen Cove PBA Pistol and Rifle Association. I understand that the primary purpose of my attendance at this event is to allow for convenient access to the facility primarily for firearms instruction and training. I also give the Glen Cove PBA Pistol and Rifle Association permission to collect information regarding the validity of my United States citizenship, criminal record, and pistol permit information. I have also answered all questions truthfully and to the best of my knowledge.

I understand that any false statements made herein will result in immediate termination of my membership and I may be reported to the appropriate governmental authorities for investigation and/or possible prosecution for wrongdoing under applicable law.
